show Abstracthide AbstractGrubs were sectioned using a sterile surgical razor through the longitudinal body plane. Sections from grub were placed onto a 1.7% water agar supplemented with the KPO buffer. Those agar plates were sealed with parafilms and incubated in dark at 20C for 3 days before use. Around 500 individuals of mixed-staged wild type and cellulase-null mutant of P pacificus were used to inoculate the 3-day old grub carcass. Non-inoculated plates with grub carcasses were used as control. Bacterial samples (including non-inoculated control) were taken at the 7th and 21st day after inoculation.
